2023 Annual Theme: New paths from digital health to personalised medicine

Theme of the year 2023: New paths from digital health to personalised medicine

After the themes of the year 202 (artificial intelligence) and 2022 (synthetic biology), these themes will be linked in 2023 and will lead to personalised medicine.
In personalised medicine (also known as individualised medicine or precision medicine), each patient is to be treated taking into account individual circumstances to a large extent, beyond the functional diagnosis of the disease. This also includes the continuous adaptation of the treatment to the progress of the cure.

Precision medicine stands for the individualisation of treatment, which is tailored to a defined group of patients rather than being applied uniformly to all patients to the same extent. Precision medicine often uses diagnostic tests to select appropriate and optimal treatments based on a patient's genetic content or other molecular or cellular analyses. The tools used in precision medicine include molecular diagnosis, imaging and analysis.

The areas in which personalised medicine is used will be explained in more detail and discussed at the events organised by the BioValley Lörrach meeting point at Innocel in 2023. Be curious to know the answers. We look forward to your participation!

The lectures will again take place in person at the Innocel Innovation Centre in Lörrach (Marie-Curie-Straße 8, 79539 Lörrach).
